Japan's morning begins with the newspaper
|
|
The home delivery system has been one of the major elements of the Japanese
newspaper industry since the beginning of the growth of the industry.
This system is one of the key factors that have enabled Japanese
newspapers to develop as the core media they represent today.
Most of the newspapers have built their own distribution channels,
which are used to deliver the papers mornings and evenings to the
homes of readers. According to survey conducted by The Japan Newspaper
Publishers and Editors Association (NSK) in October 2005, the home
delivery rate averaged 94.2%.
This is why we say that "Japan's morning begins with the newspaper." Greeting the day by reading the newspaper is an overwhelmingly widespread element of the Japanese lifestyle.
