Total newspaper circulation stands at 52,568,032 copies, most of them delivered directly to households every morning. There are five nationwide dailies including The Asahi Shimbun. Seven dailies, including two local papers, have circulations exceeding one million. Among these papers, The Asahi Shimbun stands out. With a circulation of 8.2 million and a reputation among readers as Japan's foremost newspaper, The Asahi Shimbun is recognized as Japan's leading, and only "Mega-Quality Paper."
